Lotus

Hailing from North London, Lotus is a car brand that is all its own, especially for its rich history. The first Lotus factory was situated in an old stable behind the Railway Hotel. They become a Formula One racing presence in 58’ and soon started producing road focused cars. They relocated their factory to the old Royal Air Force station from the second world war and used the old runways as test tracks. They still use the runways today. Originally, you could only purchase road legal Lotus vehicles in kits that you would build yourself. But the mid-1970s ushered in the era of detail-oriented craftsmanship in vehicles. Lotus adapted by providing the Lotus Eclat and Elite.

The iconic all-fiberglass body remains one of the most unique pieces of the Lotus brand, as it did when it set them apart in the 1950s. The overhead camshaft engine and backbone chassis which notably extends a vehicle’s life, especially because the vulnerable portions of the drive shaft are protected, an important aspect in a speed-focused car. Despite the financial issues at the founder’s death, Lotus has remained one of the more impressive boutique foreign car manufacturers, which is why their models are so distinct and still sought after.

Boutique Import Luxury Manufacturing

There’s a reason that Lotus, despite its low production rates, still remains a world presence in the sense of European import automobiles. Their lightweight sports bodies are still one of the most attractive features on the market. The manufacturers developed a way to entirely avoid welding the metal in the body of the vehicle which avoids loss of metal, loss of strength, and completely avoids any potential heat warping. The material of the body and optimization of every piece of the vehicle renders the model ever-changing, unlike some tired makes and models that many dub “classic.”

The truly stand-out portion of the performance, however, has to be that every piece is entirely handmade. Like a fine pair of Italian leather boots, each Lotus is made with painstaking detail and is made by hand as much as possible. In fact, the entire Lotus production line only uses one robotic component when creating their vehicles. It’s used for cutting carbon fiber crash structures, which cannot arguably be done by human hand effectively. Past that, however, everything is handcrafted and the consistency of quality and individuality of the Lotus brand is totally preserved because of it.

Your Lotus Is The Flower Of Chesterfield, Don’t Let It Off The Road

Rather than bringing your lotus into just any import auto dealership, recognize that you simply can’t access the kind of import auto talent there that you need. Your Lotus is more than a vehicle, it’s a nod to times past and handmade ingenuity at it’s finest. It’s a boutique product that deserves an equally attentive boutique service. Bring your Lotus model to LPS Motowerks in Chesterfield.

We’re inspired by the idea of more beautiful import vehicles staying on the road longer. There’s no reason that we shouldn’t adorn the streets of our city with precision vehicles that are as breathtaking to look at as they are to drive. For this reason, we provide exceptional repair and maintenance services to our community on top of tune-up consultation and execution and import auto storage. From climate-controlled and humidity restricted storage space for your import auto when you’re away to helping you pick out tune-up kits and coax your engine into becoming the machine you’ve been dreaming of.
