Hailing from North London, Lotus is a car brand that is all its own, especially for its rich history. The first Lotus factory was situated in an old stable behind the Railway Hotel. They become a Formula One racing presence in 58’ and soon started producing road focused cars. They relocated their factory to the old Royal Air Force station from the second world war and used the old runways as test tracks. They still use the runways today. The overhead camshaft engine and backbone chassis which notably extends a vehicle’s life, especially because the vulnerable portions of the drive shaft are protected, an important aspect in a speed-focused car.
